why the whales came

This week we have been learning about the book on why the whales came. This book is very interesting because you really can imagine whats going on and it's like a movie just reading a book. The hard part was the hard words on the book. The easy part was thinking about whats going on in the story. The authors name was called Michael Morpurgo and I recommend that you have to read it.

The trial

This week in reading we have to do an activity on our book called the trial. The activity that I done today was an acrostic poem.
hope you like it.

taumarere

On Thursday the 25th the bilingual classes went to taumaere because we had to learn about the history around that place. We had all jumped on the train and headed off. The big kids had walk 3km from taumarere bridge to opua it was so tiring but I am keen to do it again. Also we had to do a scavenger hunt it was really fun. After that we all  had to walk to the club rooms to catch the train. Here is a D.L.O of the past and present of taumarere.

Captain cook

In reading I think I did well but not so well. The most activity that challenged me the most was there, their and they're when we had to right these in a sentence. I asked a friend to help with one thing. I think the easiest for me was our homework part. Our homework was to find evidence to support your answers.

Water cycle

This week we are learning  about the rubbish that goes around the world. last week we went down town to clean up Kawakawa and I know that there was more then 15 bags of rubbish that we collected. Some went in the river for rubbish and some went to clean the storm drains. When we were picking up rubbish in the storm drain there was still big mountains of rubbish still left in there because we could not get to it and when Mahuta saw a animal head flow picked up that head and it was a cow face.

ANZAC

This week is ANZAC week and I have a poster that I done so please turn your eyes to this.

Dawn Service

Today I read a poem about this kid's Great grandad and how he learnt about what his great-grandad did. The easy part was reading it. The hard part was turning it into a poem and understanding it,  So my next step is to  turn it into a poem and understand it.

ANZAC ( the children's war)

Yesterday we were reading about ANZAC and about when men went to war that children would learn about them and what they do to support there country. The easy part was reading it and  understanding it.  The hard part was making a picture in my head, so I think my next step is to learn how to make pictures in my head.

I think

1. That when people went to war, the children would learn about them in the school journal.

2.The kid would honor the before going into class

3.  NZ joined forces with the british

4. The kids would sew sock's , kitted, stitched and write cheerful letters

5. That boy's would learn soldiers skills to become soldiers in the future
